This rice does require a bit more time, but is worth all the effort. It is pretty and delicious.
Friendly Rice
2 cup Basmati rice
1 large onion, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 carrots, peeled and cut in to small pieces
1/2 cup craisins (dried cranberries)
1/4 cup slivered almonds (optional)
Directions:
Cook rice according to package
Saute veggies in a separate pan
When done, add veggies to cooked rice.
Throw in the craisins.
NOTE: rice can be baked in as oven, instead of stove top.
