The first time I tasted this dish, I was delighted. IT was filling yet simple and elegantly displayed. When I learned the recipe and how easy it was to prepare, I got to work. This can be prepared in advance and frozen. As well, the first step of sauteeing the veggies can be prepared in advance and added to the rest of the recipe. In short try it and let me know what you think. This is great as a second to the main dish, and adaptable for Passover.

Meat Pie
2 sheets Puff pastry (can skip on Passover)
3 large onions, diced
6 zuchinnis, unpeeled and shredded
3 carrots, shredded
2 lb ground beef
3 eggs
3/4 cups tomato sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
3/4 cup matza meal (can skip or replace with 1/2 potato)
2 Tablespoon ketchup
Optional:egg yolk & sesame seeds

Saute veggies until soft & Set aside.
Mix together meat with remaining ingredients, besides dough.
Roll dough to size, 9x13 or 2 9inch round pans
Place dough in pan.
Mix 1/2 the veggie mixture into meat and pour on dough.
Pour remaing mixture on top.
Roll another sheet of dough on top.
Slit to desired size for cutting.
Brush with egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds
 Bake uncovered at 350 until golden brown.

Note:can be into knishes as well
